32nd Spent Fuel Workshop

5 – 7 november 2024
Nîmes, France

About the workshop

The 32nd Spent Fuel Workshop (SFW) will be held in Nîmes (Occitanie, France) on 5 – 7 november 2024. The workshop will take place at the “Musée de la Romanité”, near an exceptional historic site, offering a unique atmosphere and an unforgettable experience for an event steeped in history.

Indeed, the first Spent Fuel Workshop was held in Studsvik, Sweden, 1981 on the initiative of SKBF/KBS. From the very beginning, this meeting was created to be “an international and informal forum for discussing questions concerning spent fuel behaviour in nuclear waste repositories”.

Since then, 31 workshops have been held in this spirit of sharing and collaboration between research institutes, industrial partners and national agencies for nuclear waste management.

Preface of the Technical Report SKBF/KBS 83-76 by Lars Werme.
